My sculptures and prints are a response to the complexities and ironies of being alive. They take an oblique look at the way political events, media and social norms shape our personal worlds.
I gained a first-class degree in sculpture from Manchester Metropolitan University. My pieces mix ceramics, concrete, and ferrous and non-ferrous metals: welded, cast and etched.
Galleries and exhibitions
I am represented by ArtDog in London, Bircham Gallery in Holt, CRAFTCO in Southwold and The Lion House Gallery in Lavenham, Suffolk. I had a long association with Curwen Gallery in Fitzrovia, which closed in 2017.
Solo exhibitions include The Green Room in Ipswich, Gate Gallery in Grimsby, Chapel Row Gallery in Bath and venues in West Lothian, London, Essex and Suffolk.
I’ve shown in a large number of group exhibitions from the early 1990s until today, including the Affordable Art Fair in London (since 2004), and galleries in Ipswich, Colchester, Brighton, Aldeburgh, Sheffield, Hastings, Cardiff, Hull, Cambridge, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, Scandinavia, Portugal and Japan.
Outreach
I have extensive experience of public engagement and outreach, including residencies and workshops in a number of schools, public demonstrations of welding, running workshops for people with educational and physical challenges and touring Norfolk hosting family events.
Education and employment
Following my degree at Manchester Metropolitan University I was funded by the Worshipful Company of Founders to study ceramic shell casting at Central Saint Martins University of the Arts London.
I’ve lectured at Anglia Polytechnic University, Cambridge, and Suffolk College, Ipswich.
Residencies include Cill Rialaig Arts Centre in County Kerry and working with John Maine, stone sculptor, in Portland.
Peter Rodulfo was born in Washington D.C, USA, in 1958. His early years were spent in Australia and India before coming to England in the mid sixties. He was educated in Suffolk, before going to study painting at Norwich School of Art 1975 – 1979.
Since leaving art school he has exhibited all over the world in both solo, group and open shows.
Rodulfo has a prolific output in many different mediums, such as oil paint, watercolour, etching, bronze sculpture and assemblages. His work can be found in both private and public collections.
